Phillip Boucher waterford
SMALL POLL PRESSURE - This creates a small amount of poll pressure which encourages the horse to lower its head and flex at the poll.
SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT POSITION IN MOUTH - The top ring also holds the bit in a slightly different, and more specific, position in the horse’s mouth. This makes it a useful bit for horses with fussy mouths.
THE WATERFORD - This helps to relax the horse's jaw and make the horse or pony more responsive to the rider's rein aids. As the mouthpiece of the Waterford becomes uncomfortable when the horse pulls, the horse will not usually lean on this type of bit or take a strong hold.
ENCOURAGE SALIVATION - Copper is felt to encourage salivation, which is thought to increase the sensitivity of the horses mouth.
